La cuisine moyen-orientale d’Akko est inspirée par son emplacement géographique et ses habitants, une combinaison de racines méditerranéennes et moyen-orientales, avec diverses influences locales des pays arabes, nord-africains et européens. Les restaurants sont fiers de proposer du poisson frais provenant des pêcheurs locaux, ainsi que des viandes et des produits locaux. Comme beaucoup d’établissements d’Akko, les restaurants familiaux abondent, avec des traditions qui ont été transmises de génération en génération. Certains établissements ont commencé à petite échelle et se sont développés au fil des années, tandis que d’autres sont restés exactement comme autrefois. Vous pouvez souvent ressentir cette longue tradition de chaque restaurant dans l’accueil chaleureux et professionnel des serveurs et du personnel.

Il est difficile de choisir un restaurant moyen-oriental à Akko, il en existe tellement d’excellents. La vue unique fait partie de l’expérience, que ce soit au bord de la mer ou dans une ruelle de la vieille ville. Attendez-vous à de généreux « mezzés » en entrée qui comprennent une variété de salades fraîches et cuites, comme le chou-fleur trempé dans le tahini, la salade d’aubergines, le taboulé, le labane, la tehina, le houmous, le falafel, des plats qui comprennent des prises du jour cuites ou grillées comme la daurade ou le bar méditerranéen, ainsi que des plats de crevettes et de calamars. Les amateurs de viande trouveront des kebabs et diverses viandes grillées dans la plupart des restaurants, tandis que les végétariens et les végétaliens pourront profiter d’une pléthore d’entrées, de salades, de légumes grillés et de bien plus encore. Le nombre de restaurants est tel qu’il est très difficile de choisir !

Seaside Greek family owned restaurant since 1948, now run by the founder Anastas's grandson. Enjoy fresh seafood and meat dishes, great salads and starters and be sure to take a look at the thousand year old wine room built during the Crusader period, which also serves as an event space.

This fish shop, founded by Khalil Jarchi and now run by his sons, the Jarchi brothers, serves fresh seafood that make their way to the plate straight from the store. Diners can choose their seafood, watch its preparation, and enjoy. Meat lovers and children will find other meat and chicken dishes as well.

Lujo-Taboon

A 10min walk from the Old City, this restaurant was opened by a pair of Akko restaurateurs, Issa and Manar Elias, and offers Galilean and Italian cuisine. Many dishes are baked in the restaurant's Taboon, and besides fish, meat and doughy dishes, a diverse brunch menu is served until 2pm.

This restaurant opened in 1970 as a small family place that fed students homemade authentic dishes. Over the years it has expanded and become a prominent restaurant in the Akko's west side, with authentic fish and meat dishes, salads, special deserts and more.
