The Saraya

The Saraya

"Saraya" is Turkish for castle and indeed the Saraya is a structure built during Turkish rule Acre, in the late 18th century, where the offices of the civilian regime officials were located.
The gate to the building is most impressive and it is built in the Ablaq monarchic, architectural style.
The building has two floors, built around a stone paved central courtyard. The Ottoman Saraya is built on the remains of the St. John's Church from the Crusader Period.
