Nach dieser Zeit wurde eine neue Stadt auf den \u00dcberresten der Kreuzritterstadt errichtet. Das Bauprojekt wurde vom Beduinenherrscher Daher el-Omar (1750-1775) initiiert, der in Galil\u00e4a ein unabh\u00e4ngiges K\u00f6nigreich errichtete und Akko zu seiner Hauptstadt machte. Er renovierte die Stadtmauern, s\u00e4uberte den Hafen und baute seinen Privatpalast in der Stadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1775 wurde die Stadt Akko von einem \u00e4gyptisch-osmanischen Offizier namens Ahmed al-Jazzar belagert, der Daher el-Omar als Rebellen gegen das osmanische Regime hinrichtete. Ahmed al-Jazzar setzte Daher el-Omars Bem\u00fchungen fort und etablierte Akko als wichtigste Handelsstadt der gesamten Region. In dieser Zeit wurden zahlreiche Moscheen, Badeh\u00e4user (Hammams), Khans und Basare gebaut, um den B\u00fcrgern der Stadt zu dienen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der T\u00fcrkische Basar wurde im sp\u00e4ten 18. Jahrhundert als st\u00e4dtischer Markt f\u00fcr die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung erbaut. Bis dahin war dies der Ort eines viel gr\u00f6\u00dferen Marktes, der von Daher el-Omar gebaut wurde und \u201eDaher Market\u201c hie\u00df. Laut dem Biografen von Suleiman Pascha \u2013 Ibrahim Al-Ouda \u2013 hatte der alte Markt 110 Gesch\u00e4fte und war sicherlich das Handelszentrum von Akko und Nordisrael. Eine der letzten detaillierten Beschreibungen des alten Marktes stammt von dem gelehrten Engl\u00e4nder James Silk Buckingham, der Akko 1816 besuchte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter brach im \u201eLaden des Juden Atzlan\u201c ein Feuer aus. Arbeiter, die am Nachmittag im Laden eine Wasserpfeife rauchten, waren unvorsichtig und ein Funke flog auf mehrere mit Schie\u00dfpulver gef\u00fcllte F\u00e4sser, die zu dieser Zeit zum Verkauf standen. Die gewaltige Explosion veranlasste Atzlan, \u201ezwanzig Ellen aus der Werkstatt wie ein St\u00fcck Kohle\u201c zu fliegen. Etwa zehn Menschen wurden bei dieser Trag\u00f6die get\u00f6tet und verletzt, das Geb\u00e4ude selbst wurde schwer besch\u00e4digt und das Feuer, das sich \u00fcber den gesamten Markt ausbreitete, verursachte schwere Sch\u00e4den. Im selben Jahr gab Suleiman den Befehl, alle \u00dcberreste des Marktes zu zerst\u00f6ren und an seiner Stelle einen neuen Markt zu errichten, der bis heute besteht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Mauern des Marktes und seine vierundsechzig L\u00e4den waren zu der Zeit, als sie gebaut wurden, wei\u00df get\u00fcncht, daher der Name des Marktes. Der Wei\u00dfe Markt ist voll von Licht und vielleicht wird das Attribut deshalb bis heute oft von den Bewohnern Akkos verwendet. W\u00e4hrend der Bombardierung durch Ibrahim Pasha in den Jahren 1831-32 wurde unter anderem diese St\u00e4tte besch\u00e4digt. Dieser Ort gilt als eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Bauunternehmen Israels des fr\u00fchen 19. Jahrhunderts und wurde von einem der damaligen Reisenden sogar mit dem Markt von Damaskus verglichen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Fotografien, die das Ende der osmanischen Zeit darstellen, zeigen, dass der Wei\u00dfe Markt \u2013 \u00e4hnlich wie der davorliegende Daher-Markt \u2013 Akkos wichtigstes Handelszentrum war. Die Bedeutung des Wei\u00dfen Marktes nahm ab, als zu Beginn des britischen Mandats zus\u00e4tzliche Routen zu Gebieten jenseits der Mauern angelegt wurden; Diejenigen, die Akko durch das einzige Landtor der Stadt betraten, mussten nicht mehr den Weg \u00fcberqueren, der zum Wei\u00dfen Markt f\u00fchrte. Einige Gesch\u00e4fte dienen jetzt als Lager und die kommerzielle Aktivit\u00e4t des Marktes hat nachgelassen. Heutzutage ist seine wei\u00dfe Farbe nur noch dem Namen nach und basierend auf einer Tafel in der westlichen Ecke des Marktes wird Daher el-Omar f\u00e4lschlicherweise der Aufbau des Marktes zugeschrieben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es wurden Renovierungsarbeiten durchgef\u00fchrt und zahlreiche Gesch\u00e4fte zu Snack- und Getr\u00e4nkebars umgebaut.<\/p>\n\n\n<!-- Close  \n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Marktstra\u00dfe<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Marktstra\u00dfe ist die Hauptstra\u00dfe der Altstadt, die von Norden nach S\u00fcden verl\u00e4uft. W\u00e4hrend der Kreuzritterzeit f\u00fchrte diese Stra\u00dfe vom Hospitallers Tor im Norden entlang der Marktroute \u2013 oder durch den Weg der K\u00f6nige (\u201eVia Regis\u201c) \u2013 bis zum Hafen.
