The Olive Festival

The Olive Festival

The Olive Festival, sponsored by the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, the Galilee Development Authority and the Olive Council, is held every October-November during the olive-picking season throughout the Galilee, the Golan and the valleys.

During the festival, a great many sites open their doors to the public and hold tourist, industrial and cultural activities surrounding the olive industry such as: tours in oil presses, musical performances, olive picking events, farmers' markets, workshops and more. Festival participants are also treated to a variety of artistic attractions such as art and photography exhibitions as well as hikes, guided tours and bicycle trips throughout the Galilee.

The festival events also feature an academic conference, aiming to bring together all those involved in the Israeli olive industry and raising strategic issues pertaining to the development of the entire industry.
Along with the extensive activity, special efforts will be made to enhance consumer awareness of Israeli-Galilean olive oil.

The Olive Festival reflects a longstanding tradition carrying a message of tolerance and symbolizing the multiculturalism of the Galilee district.
